The concept of living in balance is one of lifeâ€™s greatest goals, but how does one become balanced and stay balanced?
When youâ€™re in balance, you feel it â€” Your body feels lighter and moves more efficiently. Your mind is clearer and more able to focus. You feel the breadth and depth of your emotions but are able to take things in stride. You feel healthy and alive. You are living in balance.
Balance doesnâ€™t necessarily mean that youâ€™re stationary, still or static. In fact, like riding a bike, itâ€™s often a process of being knocked off your axis and recovering. Yet once you gain momentum, it becomes easier to maintain, but is always a continuous process.
Life often moves us in a way that causes us to lose our balance. However, it doesnâ€™t mean that we must accept these imbalances as part of who we are. Instead, letâ€™s see it as an opportunity to learn, and find our balance again in perhaps a new way so that we may grow and become more adept at maintaining our balance.
My name is Sonya and Iâ€™m a Registered Massage Therapist and the Owner of Living in Balance, a home-based healthcare facility located in the Heritage District of Downtown Collingwood. Our goal is to work in partnership with you so that you may find your balance, and maintain living in balance.
