Borealis Massage Therapy

About

My name is Kalea Durnin and I am the owner of Borealis Massage Therapy. I’ve been a Registered Massage Therapist since 2016. After completing the twenty- two hundred hour Massage Therapy diploma program through McKay Career Training, I then joined the Massage Therapist Association of Saskatchewan Inc. Borealis Massage Therapy operates out of a home based clinic in South Ridge Estates in the Village of Christopher Lake. The passion that I feel for my practice is overwhelming and I love the challenges and exploration of learning that it can bring. Through continued education seminars I have had the privilege of extending my training in the John F. Barnes Method of Myofascial Release. One of the best things about my job is that I get to work with clients from all walks of life to create a treatment and home care plan. The treatment plan helps to optimize the clients over all well being while the home care plan helps to maintain and prolong the benefits that are gained throughout the myofascial release treatments. Taking home care away from the equation is like losing an extremely important piece of the puzzle. Home care plays a huge role in the journey of physical and emotional wellness. I take pride as an RMT in being a part of that journey, and enjoy sharing my knowledge that is pertinent to proper body mechanics and movement, self treatment instructions, strength training, stretching to improve flexibility, and postural and movement awareness. Along with loving the work that I do, I have an eagerness to teach many different types of exercises and stretching techniques that I have learned over the years. Taking a two-hundred-hour yoga teacher training program is helping to add to this part of my work. The Massage Therapy modality of Myofascial Release is the backbone to my practice and I immensely enjoy what it has to offer. It is a modality that has benefited me personally due to my own injuries and through experiencing such extraordinary healing brought on by the work, I want nothing more than to help others find balance in both mind and body. It brings me happiness to share my knowledge of wellness through the practice of massage therapy. I look forward to being apart of your journey to a healthy way of living through all that this wonderful modality has to offer.
