As a healthcare professional using Noterro, you have the ability to manage clinical note templates to streamline your documentation process and ensure consistent and efficient note-taking. Noterro provides the tools to add, edit, disable, and delete clinical note templates. Let's explore each of these actions in detail.

Adding Clinical Note Templates

Adding a new clinical note template is valuable in creating standardized documentation for various Patient encounters. Here's how you can do it:

  1. Log in as the Admin.
  2. Click on the Gear Icon (top right header).
  3. Select Templates.
  4. Scroll to the Clinical Notes section.
  5. Click Add New.
  6. You have three options. You can select a Noterro Template, a Template you have already added, or you can start with a Blank Note Template.
  7. If you start with a Blank Template, you must enter the name of your Clinical Note before you begin.
  8. Use the Form editor to create your custom note template. Any changes you make to the form will be auto-saved.

Important Note: Once a Clinic Note Template has been added to a Patient, much of the form cannot be changed and will be labelled "In Use." If you want to make changes, duplicate the Clinic Note Template and disable the previous version. You can fully edit all the details on the duplicated Clinic Note Template. Also, if your clinic uses multiple templates, Practitioners can designate a default template in their Charting settings section.

If you need to make changes or update a clinical note template, you must Duplicate the Clinic Form Template.

  1. Log in as the Admin.
  2. Click on the Gear Icon (top right header).
  3. Select Templates.

  4. Scroll to the Clinical Notes section.
  5. Locate the specific clinical note template you want to delete and click on the Three Dots.
  6. Select Delete.
  7. In the prompt that appears, click Yes, Delete to confirm deletion.

Important Note: Deleting a clinical note template will permanently remove it from your template library. Keep in mind that you can only delete Clinical Note Templates that are not "in use." For "In Use" Clinical Note Templates, consider Disabling them instead. Communicate any changes to your team members to ensure a smooth transition.

Previewing Clinical Note Templates

You may want to preview a clinical note template. This is not a functional template, it only displays the forms sections, categories and questions.

  1. Log in as the Admin.
  2. Click on the Gear Icon (top right header).
  3. Select Templates.
  4. Scroll to the Clinical Notes section.
  5. Locate the specific clinical note template you want to preview and click on the Three Dots.
  6. Select Preview.

Important Note: Only the Administrator can manage Clinical Note Templates. Individual Practitioners cannot add or edit clinical note templates. Practitioners can set their default clinical note template in their charting settings under their personal settings.
