Incorrect Appointment Times Appearing in Patient Calendars

When the clinic's time zone and the Patient's calendar's time zone don't match, appointments will appear in the Patient's calendar at a different time. This is due to one of the following reasons.

Your Patients Viewing Appointments in UTC Time

The Patient's calendar is in the wrong time zone. The Patient may not realize that the appointment is displayed in UTC rather than their time zone. Ensure Patients know this and adjust the time zone settings in their calendar if necessary.

Your Clinic is in the Wrong Time Zone

This is common when a clinic selects a non-daylight savings time zone. For example:

ADT - Atlantic Daylight Time (observes daylight savings time)
AST - Atlantic Standard Time (does not observe daylight savings time)

Both are Atlantic time, but only ADT observes daylight savings time. In this case, if the clinic is set to AST and the Patient is set to ADT, the appointments appearing in the Patient's calendar will be off by one hour.

If your clinic is in the wrong time zone, you will need to do the following:

  1. Update your clinic to the correct time zone.
  2. Delete and re-add any future Availability and Appointment since they will be in the wrong time zone.
  3. Upon re-adding any Availabilities and Appointments, they will be saved to the new, corrected time zone.

Important Note: If you have several appointments that need to be adjusted, contact us, and we can schedule a bulk update for you.
