Managing SMS Notifications for Practitioners

With SMS Notifications, all notifications—previously sent via email and in-app notifications—will now be forwarded to Practitioners via SMS. This feature allows you to reach your practitioners and clients even more efficiently.

Allowing Practitioners to Update Their SMS Notifications

Admins can allow or restrict practitioners from managing their SMS notification settings. Follow these steps to configure SMS notifications at the practitioner level:

  1. Log in as Admin.
  2. Click on the Gear Icon (Settings) in the top right corner.
  3. Select Base Setup from the dropdown menu.
  4. Go to Practitioners.
  5. Scroll down to the SMS Notifications section.
  6. Check the box next to "Allow Practitioner to change these SMS settings." This will expose a list of options for each practitioner to manage their notifications.
  7. Uncheck the box if you do not want practitioners to modify their SMS settings.
  8. Note: If an admin or practitioner checks or unchecks the box, the last person to save the settings will determine the final configuration.

Controlling SMS Consumption

Admins have complete control over how many SMS notifications are sent. You can manage this at the practitioner level by deciding which notifications they should receive via SMS.

Adding or Updating a Practitioner's Phone Number

Each practitioner must have a mobile phone number listed to receive SMS notifications. The practitioner will not receive SMS alerts if a mobile number isn't listed.

To add or update a phone number:

  1. Log in to your Noterro account.
  2. Click on either your Photo or Initials in the top right corner.
  3. Select Profile from the dropdown menu.
  4. Scroll down to the Notification Preferences section.
  5. Here, you can uncheck the SMS notifications you do not want to receive. Ensure the phone number field is filled in so SMS notifications can be delivered.
  6. Note: Any settings configured by the Admin (such as which notifications are sent via SMS) are locked for practitioners and cannot be changed by them.

Important Notes: When SMS notifications are enabled, the number of SMS messages will increase, as notifications are now being sent via multiple channels (email, in-app, and SMS). Admins have control over whether practitioners can update their SMS notification settings. However, the number of SMS notifications sent will affect the consumption of SMS credits. Each practitioner must have a valid phone number stored in their Profile for SMS notifications to work. Without a phone number, SMS notifications will not be sent.
